Electrostatic Painters in Stittsville
Stittsville started life as a railway stop, and the former rail bed through town now carries the Trans Canada Trail. Main Street keeps a few older buildings, but most of the community is newer: Fairwinds, Jackson Trails, Westwood, Blackstone and the streets still filling in to the south. These homes were built with a lot of factory-finished metal: black steel balusters on interior staircases, insulated steel front doors, sectional garage doors, exterior light fixtures, house numbers and aluminium railings on porches and decks. The Hazeldean Road and Main Street plazas add storefront frames, steel back doors and the metal racking inside shops.
In a house that is only a few years old, most clients are not fixing damage but changing a look, such as turning bronze fixtures matte black or giving a builder-grey front door a bolder colour. Interior work means protecting hardwood, carpet, wall paint and stair treads around each spindle, which takes longer to mask than to spray. The charged paint wraps every side of a round baluster, so we avoid the drips and thin spots that brush work leaves. Exterior pieces are scheduled once spring is properly underway and the steel is warm.

Questions from Stittsville
- Can we paint the metal spindles on our staircase without removing them?
- Yes, that is how we usually do it. Treads, the handrail and the walls are masked tightly, and the spindles are sprayed in place. Expect the staircase to be off limits until the finish has set, so plan for an evening without using it.
- Our builder put brass-coloured outdoor lights on the house. Can they be painted black?
- Exterior fixtures are a good fit. We cover the glass and the wall behind them, turn off the circuit for safety, clean and scuff the metal, and coat them in place. House numbers and mailboxes can be done at the same visit so everything matches.
- Can a front door be painted a new colour while it stays on its hinges?
- It can. We remove or cover the handle, lock and weatherstripping, mask the glass, and spray both the slab and the frame. The door can close once the coating is dry to the touch, which keeps the house secure the same evening.
