Electrostatic Painters in Barrhaven

Barrhaven is one of Ottawa's newest large suburbs, built out over the last few decades through Longfields, Davidson Heights, Chapman Mills, Stonebridge and Half Moon Bay along the Jock River. Its housing is mostly detached homes and long rows of townhouses, and the metal on them is builder grade: steel garage doors, insulated front doors, aluminum railings on porches and decks, and black metal fences around backyards. The retail plazas along Strandherd Drive and Greenbank Road add storefront frames, steel service doors and the bike racks and bollards that line their parking lots.

On a builder-grade steel door, the factory finish often starts to fade or scuff after ten or fifteen years, well before the door itself has worn out, which makes refinishing a cost-sensitive alternative to replacement. Townhouse communities often want a whole row done in one coordinated pass so every unit matches, and a condominium corporation will usually have an approved colour list we can work from. Plaza work is planned around store hours, with storefront frames done early in the day or after closing so shoppers are never walking through a masked entrance.

Getting to Barrhaven

We come into Barrhaven by way of the Vimy Memorial Bridge or Woodroffe, and a townhouse block or plaza is often scheduled across a couple of consecutive days.

Questions from Barrhaven

Our townhouse corporation wants every garage door repainted the same colour. How does that work?
We start with one sample door so the board can see the colour and sheen in daylight. Once approved, we work through the units in order, giving each owner notice of their day. Doors stay operable throughout, they just need to stay closed while the paint sets.
Can a scuffed steel front door be refinished instead of replaced?
In most cases, yes. Dents stay dents, but scratches, fading and chalky paint come right back with prep and a fresh coat. The door, frame and even the kick plate can be done together, with the glass and weatherstripping masked.
Do you paint the black metal fencing around backyards?
We do. Powder-coated and painted steel fence panels can be scuffed, primed where needed and recoated in place. It is worth trimming plants back from the fence line beforehand so we can reach every picket.
