Electrostatic Painters in Kanata
Kanata started as a planned community in the 1960s and now ranges from mature neighbourhoods like Beaverbrook and Glen Cairn to Bridlewood, Kanata Lakes and Morgan's Grant, with a large technology park along March Road. That office and industrial side is where most of the metal sits: steel filing cabinets, desks and cubicle frames, staff lockers, steel doors to stairwells and server or mechanical rooms, and aluminum storefront frames on the retail plazas. In the residential areas, the older houses have wrought-iron and steel railings and steel entry doors, while newer streets have aluminum railings and insulated garage doors.
Offices are frequently refurbished when a team moves floors or a lease turns over, and refinishing the existing steel furniture on site is often simpler than buying replacements. We set up a work area in an emptied part of the floor, protect carpet and walls, and paint cabinets, desk frames and partitions in groups so the colours match. Lockers are done one bank at a time after they are emptied. Because these buildings are usually occupied, we arrange ventilation and timing with the facility manager so neighbouring tenants are not disrupted. Homeowners in the older neighbourhoods, meanwhile, tend to want railings and front doors refreshed in the same visit.
Getting to Kanata
Kanata is reached directly along the 417, and both the March Road tech park and the residential neighbourhoods south of the highway are within easy reach. Office projects are booked in step with the building's own schedule.
Questions from Kanata
- We are reorganizing our office. Can the existing steel filing cabinets and desks be repainted instead of replaced?
- Yes, and it can be done on your floor rather than shipped out. Furniture is emptied, grouped in a protected area, cleaned of grease and old labels, then sprayed so drawer fronts, sides and frames all come out a consistent colour. Drawer slides and locks are masked so they still operate smoothly.
- Can the lockers in our staff change room be painted while the room is still in use?
- We do them one bank at a time, so the rest of the room stays available. Staff empty the lockers being painted, the doors are left propped open to dry, and the area is ventilated and roped off until the finish can be handled. Number plates, vents and locks are protected throughout.
- Our metal furniture has a slick factory finish. Will new paint stick to it?
- It will if the surface is prepared correctly. Smooth factory finishes are degreased and scuff-sanded to give the new coat a profile to grip, and where needed we use a bonding primer. Skipping that preparation is what causes peeling on refinished office furniture, so it is never the step we shorten.
