Electrostatic Painters in Nepean
Nepean was its own city until 2001, and it still has distinct pockets: Centrepointe, Merivale, Bells Corners, Craig Henry, Crestview, Manordale and more. Much of the housing dates from the 1960s to the 1980s, so side-splits and bungalows with metal front-step railings and steel storm doors are everywhere. Just as important is the commercial side: office buildings along Merivale Road and around Centrepointe, business parks near the Greenbank and Hunt Club corridors, and strip plazas that line the arterials. That means rows of steel filing cabinets, lockers, cubicle frames, metal desks, shelving, steel stairwell doors and aluminium storefront frames.
For offices, most clients do not want to buy new furniture just to change a colour scheme, and electrostatic painting lets cabinets and desks be recoated where they stand. The challenge is working around people, so we usually book office floors for evenings or weekends and mask carpet, walls, glass and electronics with care. Ventilation is set up before we start, and pieces are left to cure before staff return. Plaza storefronts are handled early in the day with the door kept usable, so customers can still get in while a frame is being finished.
Getting to Nepean
Nepean is central to our usual routes, reached by the 417, Hunt Club Road or Woodroffe Avenue. Office projects are booked around your occupancy, often for after-hours or weekend work.
Questions from Nepean
- Can filing cabinets and metal desks be painted over a weekend so staff come back Monday?
- That is the most common way we handle offices. We clean and scuff the pieces Friday evening, spray through Saturday, and leave Sunday for curing and unmasking. Drawers should be emptied of anything you would not want handled, and tops cleared.
- We have a long bank of steel lockers in a lunchroom. Can the colour be changed completely?
- Yes, a full colour change on lockers is straightforward. The vents, hinges and number plates are masked, the doors are degreased since lockers collect hand oils, and a primer goes down before the new colour. Going from dark to light may need an extra coat, which we account for when planning.
- Will paint on a plaza storefront frame hold up to heavy door traffic?
- An aluminium or steel frame that is properly cleaned, scuffed and primed holds the coating well, and the paint grips edges and corners where wear normally starts. Push bars and the bottom rail take the most abuse, so we pay extra attention to coverage there. Nothing is permanent on a door that opens thousands of times a month, but it is easy to touch up later.
