Electrostatic Painters in Manotick

Manotick grew up around a grist mill on the Rideau River, and the village still keeps a core of stone and older frame houses clustered near the mill and the riverbank. Past that core you find estate homes on big lots, newer streets out toward Mahogany, and a short run of shops, cafés and offices on Main Street. Most of the metal here is residential and decorative: wrought-iron porch railings, steel entry doors, garage doors, lamp posts, mailbox posts and aluminium patio sets. On the commercial side, storefront frames, step handrails and the steel service doors behind the shops take a beating from road salt every winter.

Riverside lots carry more moisture than most, so rust on a railing near the water usually starts at a weld or where a post meets the concrete. We take those spots back to sound metal, prime anything bare, and mask stonework, siding, decking and plantings before the spray gun comes out. Charged paint wraps onto the grounded metal rather than drifting, which helps a great deal around old stone you would never want speckled. Exterior jobs here are booked for dry spells between late spring and early fall, when the steel itself is warm enough for the coating to cure properly.

Getting to Manotick

Manotick is an easy drive down River Road or Prince of Wales Drive, so we group village visits with other jobs in Ottawa's south end. Larger estate properties sometimes take a full visit of their own, and we plan that with you up front.

Questions from Manotick

Can you refinish iron railings on a stone house without marking the masonry?
We tape and cover the stone, mortar joints and steps around each post before any prep, and the charged spray is pulled onto the iron instead of floating onto nearby surfaces. Loose rust is removed by hand tools so nothing abrasive is blasted at the stone.
Our steel garage door has faded to chalk. Is it worth painting rather than replacing?
If the panels are straight and the steel is sound, a new finish usually makes more sense than a new door. We clean off the chalky layer, scuff the surface so the primer bites, and spray the panels in place. Dented or rusted-through sections are a different story, and we will say so when we look at it.
Can aluminium patio furniture be painted at our house instead of being hauled away?
Nothing needs to be hauled away. We set the pieces up on a protected area of the driveway or lawn, degrease them, and apply a primer made for aluminium so the topcoat holds. Chairs and tables are ready to handle after the coating cures, all on your own property.
